Financial
Hardship Assistance
At United
Advantage NW FCU we understand that our members are
experiencing a changing economic climate. Whether your
household income has been reduced due to an
involuntary reduction in pay, involuntary
unemployment, or some other difficulty, our Financial
Hardship Assistance Program was established to help
you get back on your feet.
Depending on your situation, you may be eligible to
lower your monthly payments, lower the interest rate
you’re currently paying, consolidate your debts into
something that’s more manageable, or even defer your
payments.
Please choose a scenario that
is appropriate to your situation:
-
I am seeking financial
assistance (3 months or less) for a personal, auto,
or other vehicle loan. Go to our
Consumer Loan Deferment
info page.
-
I am seeking financial
assistance (greater than 3 months) for an unsecured
line of credit, Visa Credit Card or other consumer
loan (including auto, personal, or other vehicle
loan). Go to our
Consumer Loan Payment Workout
info.
Be wary of
foreclosure and other rescue scams
Unfortunately, today’s economic climate has given rise
to unscrupulous persons and organizations that are
eager to make a quick buck.
Be wary of any person or organization that charges a
fee in exchange for counseling services or modifying a
delinquent loan. If anyone asks you to sign or
transfer over the deed of your home in order to help
“save” your home, don’t go any further. Unless you’re
working directly with your mortgage company, never
sign over the deed of your property to any individual,
organization or entity.
There is never a fee to get assistance or information
about United Advantage’s financial hardship programs.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD) also provides access to HUD-approved counselors.
